The second announcement of FOOTBRIDGE 2011 Conference Wroclaw, Poland, 6—8 July, 2011

Wroclaw University of Technology is honoured to organize the next edition of the International Conference FOOTBRIDGE. After successful three previous editions in 2002 (Paris), 2005 (Venice) and 2008 (Porto) the conference FOOTBRIDGE 2011 will be held in Wroclaw (Poland) on July 6—8, 2011.

We would like to welcome all researchers, civil engineers, designers, architects and students who are interested in various subjects concerning footbridges: planning and conceptual design, aesthetics, renovation, structural analysis, vibration and control, new materials, guidelines, etc. Following the good tradition of the previous editions of FOOTBRIDGE Conference we intend to arrange a pre-conference workshop for those who would like to extend their knowledge and interests.

Wroclaw – the heart of Lower Silesia — is one of the oldest and the most beautiful places in Poland. The city centre is crossed with an extensive network of the Odra River branches and tributaries making Wroclaw a city of 12 islands and over 300 bridges and footbridges. This metropolis with over 600 thousand inhabitants concentrates diversified cultural life, multi-domain academic societies as well as an important economic centre and continuously intensively develops tightening relations with Europe.
